Dragonfly Lady

My Name is: Dragonfly Lady. Why you may ask? Well, how about a couple of comparisons, the dragonfly is a beneficial insect. By heart and training I am a nurse thus, we are both beneficial!

The first part of a dragonfly’s life is spent on the water, which is why you often see them hovering on lily pads and around ponds and other water bodies. As adults, dragonflies move onto more terrestrial habitats like the garden. I was a sailor for many years living on the ocean wave aboard a three masted barque. As with the dragonfly moving to a different habitat, I now reside on land keeping water close at hand with a pond in our garden and the sea nearby.

My Focus is: With regard gardening, I cannot at this moment pin point a definitive focus, except to learn more of the Floridian climate its native plants and animal life. (Remember I’m a non native!)

My Interests are: Education, to inspire others to have an appreciation of what they have and the natural habitat which surrounds them thus encouraging them to active stewardship of these treasures for years to come.

Additional Bio: I love to travel and hope to continue to do so; there is much to be learnt by expanding our minds and hearts and enveloping other cultures and ideals.
